Jacqueline Vinson is a multidisciplinary artist studying at the University of Michigan Stamps School of Art and Design. Through experimenting with found objects and plastic debris as a medium, her work exhibits themes of ecological degradation and the impacts of single use plastics on the natural world. As a birder, Jacqueline also aims to explore how the life cycle of ubiquitous single use plastics affect the aviary creatures that our ecosystems need in order to survive.

Aside from exploring single use plastics as a medium, Jacqueline also uses traditional mediums such as oils and gouache paint to shine a light on the negative impact of our society’s post humanist tendencies. Through her use of color and content, she makes historical references to impressionist art with a contemporary approach in many of her paintings and mixed media works.

In Summer of 2024, Jacqueline founded VinNY , a New York based streetwear brand advancing urban connections with the natural world through rhythmic nature inspired graphics. 10% of the net proceeds go toward environmental organizations that aid bird and wildlife habitats in metropolitan areas.

Across a variety of mediums, color palettes, compositions, and messages, Jacqueline uses her art as a means of rethinking our relationship to the natural world and inspiring change.
